I graduated from Istinye University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Business Administration (without Thesis).
In the same period, I was continuing to study at Atatürk University, Department of Disaster and Emergency Management. In addition to these, I was continuing my duty as the Deputy Director responsible for the response in the Ministry of Fire Department of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
Currently, I continue my duty as a civil servant in the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) as the Director of Yalova Provincial AFAD.
MY RECOMMENDATIONS;
First of all, I can definitely say that I am glad that I chose Istinye University for my master's education and completed my education there.
I had many valuable professors at the university. Each of them helped me a lot both academically and after graduation. It makes me happy to still stay in touch with many of my professors and exchange views after graduation.
Starting a master's degree at almost the age of fifties, as well as attracting attention in my family and business circle, also caused criticism. After finishing my faculty life in the early 1990s, how did I come up with the idea of doing a master's degree 30 years later; in fact, it was a subject that I thought for years but made excuses for not being able to do, maybe I was afraid of doing a master's degree I was scared because I was worried about not being accepted by my potential classmates because of my age. From the moment I started Istinye University, I had a very comfortable education and training life as a result of the closeness and interest shown by both my friends and my teachers. I say to my young friends, never put off your dreams, especially your dreams about education.
While I only wanted to be a role model for my children in my master's dream at that age, I did not know and did not anticipate that my master's degree would carry me to higher positions. That's how I work in my current position. Thanks to the education I received, I wrote articles and increased my self-confidence both in life and in business life.
That's why I say make good use of your education life, work, get to know a lot of people, always have good people in your life, and most importantly, DON'T DELAY YOUR DREAMS.
